Forge Turbo Blanket for 2007-2013 R55 R56 R57 R58 R59 R60 R61 MINI Cooper S Turbo. This Forge Turbo Blanket replaces the top stock aluminum heat shield on top of the Turbocharger. The Forge turbo blanket is designed to isolate the radiant heat produced by the turbo. Forge says the stock MINI heat shield is inadequate and can result in warping the standard air scoop located in the bonnet. This design has been created to withstand the harshest of environments and proven to withstand temperatures up to 2500 °f of radiant heat which will assist in protecting and prolonging the life of engine components. Design innovation keeps the heat of the exhaust gases contained within the hot side of the turbocharger, away from the cool side and the intake path which helps reduce turbo lag and air intake temperatures resulting in more power.
